In addition to her academic role at Leuphana, she is Director of the Europa-Kolleg Hamburg and serves on both the Research Directorate and the Advisory Board of the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility (IKEM) in Berlin. She is also co-editor of the journals Klima und Recht and the European Yearbook of International Economic Law.

Jelena Bäumler is Professor of Public Law and International Law with a focus on sustainability at Leuphana University Lüneburg, where she has also served as Vice President since 2022. Her professorship centers on legal issues related to sustainable development in both national and international contexts. She has held visiting professorships at various universities abroad.
